Il sortira le 7 février 2024 et sera disponible en 2 versions, limitées à 150 chacune. Le vinyle viendra dans une superbe pochette gatefold, et sera pressé en 180g transparent, avec une face B sérigraphiée en jaune ou en rose. Le dessin utilise un effet zootrope qui s'anime quand le disque tourne. Il a été conçu par The Fisher King.

Cela fait bien trop longtemps qu'il n'y a pas eu de nouvelles par ici. Il est l'heure de se remettre à quelque chose de plus régulier !
Il y a eu une mise à jour sur les prix de toutes les sorties VOTU, et sur une partie des disques en distribution. Comme vous l'avez peut-être remarqué, le prix des vinyles a beaucoup augmenté ces dernières années. C'est à la fois dû aux prix de production qui ont augmenté, mais aussi à l'augmentation des ventes, le vinyle étant revenu à la mode.

Comme vous le savez (ou pas), je suis tout seul à gérer VOTU records, avec mon argent perso, en dehors de mon travail de tous les jours. L'objectif est de rentrer dans mes frais pour continuer à sortir des disque dans le futur (ce qui n'est pas toujours facile), car le but principal du label est d'aider les groupes à faire entendre leur musique.
Mais dernièrement, j'ai eu l'impression de passer énormément de temps à calculer comment diminuer les pertes, en participant à l'augmentation des prix, ce qui est contre productif quand l'idée principale est de permettre au maximum de gens d'écouter les groupes du label.

C'est de cette réflexion que vient la nouvelle politique tarifaire. Vous pouvez maintenant choisir entre 3 prix sur le site :
– le prix de base : c'est le prix auquel le disque est censé être vendu, permettant de rentrer dans mes frais sans avoir besoin de vendre l'ensemble du pressage. Comme mentionné au dessus, tous les profits du label sont réinvestis dans les nouvelles sorties (pour l'instant, les bénéfices d'une sortie servent surtout à couvrir les pertes des autres sorties)
– le prix solidaire : c'est un prix réduit, qui permet de pouvoir acheter le disque même si vous ne pouvez pas vous permettre le prix de base. Pas besoin de donner de preuve pour cela, le système est basé sur la confiance.
– le prix de soutien : c'est un prix un peu plus élevé, au cas où vous voudriez soutenir un peu plus le label et pouvez vous permettre de payer quelques euros en plus pour le disque.

J'espère que cela permettra à ceux qui ont une période un peu plus difficile de pouvoir quand même profiter de la musique sortie par VOTU, je suis ouvert aux suggestions si jamais vous voyez comment améliorer ce système.

Some news from the shop : I added a fidelity program, so that every time you reach a thresholds of 150 euros (not necessarily in one order), you unlock a 20% discount coupon for your next order.
All you need to do is create an account, to have a sum of all your orders (if you have placed an order before without creating an account, I’ll make sure you get your fidelity points).
There are some releases coming in the next months, several got delayed with the sanitary situation, so every order helps refunding the money that got advanced for these releases that I haven’t received yet.

– PVST / Meüte – Split 12″ : 2 EPs on one record, post hardcore vs dark hardcore
– Flies Are Spies From Hell – Final Quiet 12″ : A super gorgeous post rock record, lead by beautiful piano parts
– Dark Days – From Dusk To Dawn 12″ : Mixing indie/punk, post-black and post-hardcore, this new EP is a huge step up for the band !
